Klyde Warren Park

Klyde Warren Park

Project Spotlight: Located in the heart of downtown Dallas, the Klyde Warren Park is a combination of a green roof, bridge and tunnel positioned on top of the Woodall Rodgers Freeway. In order to support a deck over the 200 foot wide freeway, this unique greenspace was constructed using geo-foam and engineered lightweight soil. By designing the deck with trenches formed between the structural beams, trees were given room to grow and only required temporary stabilization for the initial planting period. Platipus Tree Anchoring Systems provided the needed support and eliminated tree staking allowing for a safe and sustainable landscape.

World Engineering Day

World Engineering Day

002 Construction works in Berat, Albania, December 2016
Today we are proud to celebrate National Engineering Day and how engineering can #ImproveLives. This may be creating a solar park to generate clean renewable energy and reduce the effects of climate change, designing pipeline infrastructure to deliver valuable resources to communities, constructing resilient flood defences to protect towns or simply designing attractive accessible landscapes to improve physical/mental health and well-being.

Using our innovative ground anchoring solutions we are pleased raise public awareness of how engineers, from all industry sectors, make a difference in the world.

Some fantastic photos of Navy Pier in Chicago captured at different times of the day. The pier boasts shopping and dining options along with a botanical garden, a Ferris wheel and many seasonal activities. To alleviate stability and safety concerns on the pier, caused by extreme wind gusts off Lake Michigan, 100 Marmo Maples were secured using the subsurface Platipus Deadman Rootball Fixing System.
